Avatars have become our alter ego when we make our presence displayed on the virtual world of internet. It is a way through which we express our personality, our beliefs and even our need to be someone special. Avatars are a great way to have yourself introduced to other people you interact with without having to disclose your real identity.
It is also more appealing to many internet users who access very often social networks and want to find their courage to step in and engage in conversations with other users.
However, creating this alter ego is not without certain disadvantages.
For example, creating avatar in contexts where you already know people you interact with, seems mostly like a waste of time. These icons can be at the same time very confusing for those who interact with you.
Sometimes people can be skeptical when they have to ‘talk’ to an alter ego leading as such to trust issues, which can be quite a tough stance for you when your intentions are otherwise good and peaceful.
